Joining the Moving Merchant network isn't automatic. Every company goes through a structured verification process — and they're monitored on an ongoing basis.
Must carry Goods in Transit insurance (minimum £10,000 cover) and Public Liability insurance, have a minimum 12 months' trading history, and have no unresolved county court judgements. Customer review history is reviewed before approval.
Must be actively regulated by the SRA (solicitors), CLC (licensed conveyancers), LSS, CILEx, or LSNI. We verify registration numbers against official regulatory databases and confirm current professional indemnity insurance.
Must be accredited under CIOB, RICS and/or RPSA. We verify individual surveyor membership numbers with the relevant accrediting body and confirm their professional indemnity insurance is current and appropriate for the survey types they offer.
Must be registered as a Waste Carrier with the Environment Agency (England/Wales), SEPA (Scotland), or NIEA (Northern Ireland). We also verify Public Liability insurance and evidence of responsible, legal waste disposal.
Must be members of FIDI, BAR Overseas, or an equivalent recognised international removal body, and carry appropriate marine cargo and transit insurance. Destination-country experience is verified for each route.
Verification isn't a one-time check. We monitor insurance renewal dates, regulatory status, and customer review scores on an ongoing basis. Partners who fail to maintain our standards are suspended or removed from the network.

Every submitted review is cross-referenced against our internal records. If we cannot confirm the reviewer used one of our matched partners for a genuine move, the review is not published.
We never offer discounts, vouchers, or other incentives for leaving reviews. Partner companies are strictly prohibited from soliciting positive reviews from their own customer lists.
